The Lyon family makes the house and Collection available for viewing by small groups on designated days each year.

All visits to the Housemuseum and Collection must be pre-booked. Visiting sessions on these designated days (generally Mondays and Tuesdays) are held between 12.00pm and 2.45pm.

Each visit lasts one and a quarter hours and is limited to a total of 22 people.

A donation of $22.00 per person is requested to assist in defraying the family’s administrative and other overhead costs associated with opening the house and Collection for public viewing.

 


When visiting the Housemuseum, please note:

  • This is a private family home – please respect it and the surrounding neighbourhood. To minimise impacts on surrounding residential properties guests are asked not to park in Florence Avenue.
  • Guided tours (if conducted) are in English. 
  • No children under the age of 12 years.
  • Eating, drinking and smoking are not permitted in the house or in the gardens.
  • Photography (including use of cameras, videos, mobile phones) is not permitted.
  • Do not touch the artworks, sculptures or displays.
  • No entry into areas of the house which have been cordoned off.
  • No sitting on furniture in the house (except Music Room).
  • No high or stiletto heels on timber floors and stairs.
  • Large bags and rucksacks cannot be brought into the house. These can be stored in the entry hall on arrival. Bags may be searched as a condition of entry to and on exiting the house. 
  • Please note that the garden courtyards and ground floor spaces of the house are the only areas available for wheelchair access or for visitors with reduced mobility. (The ground floor includes an accessible toilet facility). There is no wheelchair access to the upper level of the house.
